  1. What is Thrift Works? Thrift Works was created to promote small businesses and moonlighters in order to save consumers money by providing an alternative to "big name brand" entities.  The Thrift Works web site is currently just a hobby and is maintained by Mike King of A Friendly Geek LLC, which is a computer repair firm servicing the west metro Atlanta area.

  2. How did Thrift Works come into existence? As a consumer and entrepreneur, I came to understand that it is sometimes difficult to connect consumers with a small business. By default, many consumers will end up utilizing a national chain and pay higher prices for a service that could be more efficiently handled by a small business. Thrift Works was born to fill this need.

  3. Why is this free for businesses? This is a new site as of May 16, 2008. The value of advertising on a site so new is very low. As the popularity grows, a small fee may be charged if the site is deemed successful.

  4. Why is it focused only on small businesses? The big businesses have huge advertising budgets to "get the word out" about their services and products..

  5. Can Thrift Works guarantee the quality of work and honesty of any business listed? No.

  6. I used one of the businesses listed on Thrift Works and had a horrible experience. Should I notify someone at Thrift Works? Please send an email to mike@afriendlygeek.com with the details.

  7. I used one of the businesses listed on Thrift Works and had a great  experience. Should I notify someone at Thrift Works? Please send an email to mike@afriendlygeek.com with the details.
